Pakistan vs New Zealand ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

TODAY PAKISTAN will meet New Zealand at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy, in the twenty fourth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Pallekele will host the first ever World Cup match at the newly build stadium.

The Shahid Afridi-led Pakistan team is on the top position in group 'A' with three wins in the Cricket World Cup 2011, whereas Daniel Vettori-led Kiwis team is on the fourth position with two wins and a loss against Australia.

Pakistan, which is considered as the most inconsistent team in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, started their campaign with an impressive 205-run victory over Kenya. In their second match against co-host Sri Lanka, they won by 11 runs. Pakistan won their third match against Canada by 46 runs.

New Zealand also started their World Cup Campaign with a 10-wicket victory over Kenya. In the next match against defending champion Australia at VCA Stadium in Nagpur, they lost by 7-wickets. In their third match on March 4, the Kiwis routed Zimbabwean team by 10-wicket.

Earlier this year, the Pakistani team defeated Kiwis in the ODI series by 3-2 in New Zealand. Pakistan is leading by 20-7 against Kiwis in the ODIs played in the sub-continent condition, whereas in the Cricket World Cups record is also in favour of Pakistan by 6-1.
