India on Wednesday entered the cricket World Cup final after eight years, beating Pakistan by 29 runs in a closely contested semifinal that could have gone either way.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, India set Pakistan a 261-run target and then bowled out their opponents for 231.
India, who now play Sri Lanka at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Saturday, will have a second shot at winning the World Cup which they first lifted 28 years ago in 1983.
