KANDY: The important Group A match between co-host Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe is played at Pallekele Cricket International stadium where Zimbabwean skipper Elton Chigumbura won the toss and surprisingly elected to field first.

Sri Lanka had made two changes in their squad where Ajentha Mendis and Hearth were dropped while fast bowlers Kulasekra and Perera were included. After 18 overs, Zimbabwean bowlers failed to take any wicket as Sri Lankan batsmen scoring freely with 109/0.
This is the second one day international match at Pallekele international cricket stadium. The first match was played between Pakistan & New Zealand on March 8 where Black Caps won the match convincingly.
The Sri Lankan squad for the match is: Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Dilshan, Tharanga, Samaraveera, Chamara Silva, Angelo Mathews, Perera, Kulasekra, Muralitharan, and Lasith Malinga.
The Zimbabwean squad for the match is: Taylor, Taibu, Chakabva, Utseya, Chigumbura, Lamb, Cremer, Price, Ervine, Mpofu, and Panyangara.
