Teams will play against each other in this initial group stage of the Icc Cricket world Cup 2011 series schedule. Only the top four teams will be qualified from this group for playing Quarterfinal of Icc World Cup and that round is knockout round. After played that round it only 2 winer goes for The Semifinal and at last Mumbai hosting the final match of the Icc Cricket World cup 2011 on 02 April.The first match will be held between co-hosts Bangladesh and India at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

ICC Cricket World Cup : All roads lead to Bangabandhu Stadium

Dhaka, Feb 17 (bdnews24.com) —The inaugural function begins at 5:45pm, but Shahrin Haque, a crazy cricket fan, has set out from the city's Tejgaon around 9am.

Like Haque, an employee of a private firm, the city dwellers have set their eyes on the Bangabandhu National Stadium at Gulistan, where the dazzling opening ceremony of the 10th Cricket World Cup kicks off on Thursday evening.

Crazy cricket lovers have started queuing up since 1pm to enter the stadium. As gates of the stadium were opened at about 2pm, the fans started pouring into the big bowl.

The 135-minute opening function includes a 50-minute performance by singers from Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka.

The law enforcers have been on sharp vigil to ensure the law and order situation, as Bangladesh is hosting such gala event for the first time along with India and Sri Lanka.

Ali Asgar, standing at Gate 1 of Bangabandhu National Stadium, told bdnews24.com that he did not get any entry ticket even then he had been there just to watch the exciting moments before the gala event.

Asgar, who was in an upbeat mood, alleged that the stadium areas had not been cleaned up in time, "this is unexpected."

There are various types of vendors around the stadium, but those selling Bangladeshi flags are doing a good business.

A group of people from the city's Mohammadpur area was moving around the stadium with a huge Bangladeshi flag drawing attention of the crocket fans.

Khandaker Kashem, one of the group members, told bdnews24.com, "Today, cricket represents Bangladesh to the world in a newer way with a newer dimension. We've been here to be part of that spirit."

As the big event inches closer to its opening, the crowd around the stadium is gradually growing.

The cricket matches will start on Feb 19 with Bangladesh taking on India at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at 2:30pm.
