Muttiah Muralitharan took a big wicket in his third over when Ryder (19) got out while playing a cut short. New Zealand only managed to score 36 runs in last 10 overs and lost another important wicket.
The Black Caps best batting pair Ross Taylor and Martin Guptill were on the crease and looking to build partnership. On the other hand, Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara was brilliant with his bowling changes and field placing as Sri Lanka had the upper hand after 20 overs of the first semi final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
