On the other Ireland that is fresh from its historic win over England has another chance to prove to the world that they are no more minnows and should not be underestimated.
India has a serious work at hand. It will try its best to sail through because the players are playing in front of a home crowd that is sensitive. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni still remembers the last World Cup when he was at the receiving end after India was tossed out of the tournament at the earlier stage.
His house was attacked. Cricket buffs in the continent are emotional and they hate their country to lose. When the Bangladesh was routed in a match against West Indies, fans stoned the bus carrying players.
Later on the police said it was a case of a mistaken identity as the fans thought they were targeting Bangladeshi players. Dhoni criticized the fans for this.
He said: "It is unfortunate, but that is how the fans react. You should remember that players are not living at home, but their families are and families don't have anything to do with cricket. You have to control your emotions."
The captain cool further added: “When we win a game I don't go around beating my fans, saying that you bashed my house in 2007. You have to back the players when they are not doing well. When you are winning, everybody is with you.
Fans of cricket should be with you when you are not doing well. Those are the real fans. Other fans just follow the wins of the team and whenever the teams are winning they are big fans of cricket."
