TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS Features, Specification Details and Prices

TVS has launched the first Indian bike to feature ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), the new TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS. This new TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS looks similar with the non-ABS version and is available in only white shade with orange decals.

Anti-lock Braking System technology is an integration of a HECU (Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit) and Independent Wheel Speed Sensors which help determine when a wheel is likely to get locked. When the brakes are applied hard, the wheel tends to lock. At this point, the HECU takes over instantaneously and modulates the brake pressure continuously to keep the Apache RTR 180 ABS in the most effective braking zone. The Apache RTR ABS is also equipped with Rear Wheel Lift-off Protection (RLP) system which regulates deceleration when the bike is likely to lift off during emergency braking situations and takes over control, with no loss of stopping distance.

This new TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS features a 177.4cc, Single Cylinder, 4 Stroke Petrol engine which develops a maximum power of about 17.3 Bhp @ 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of about 15.5 Nm @ 6500 rpm. This new commuter bike, TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS will feature a top-speed of around 125kph and is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 kph in around 4.15 secs. This new TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS, with a 5-speed Manual Gear Transmission will give a mileage of around 39 kmpl in the cities and around 47 kmpl in the highways. This new TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS will also feature Telescopic Forks Suspension at the fornt and Gas Shocks, Rectangular Swingarm Suspension at the rear. It also comes with a 270mm Petal Disc Brake at the fornt and a 200mm Petal Disc ABS Brake at the rear.

Last week, this new TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS gets launched in the Indian market and is priced Rs 9000 more than the non-ABS version, ie around Rs 87,900/-.

2011 TVS Velocity 160 Street Fighter

TVS are now all set to launch a new bike in the sports segment of the Indian two wheeler field and this new bike is named as TVS Velocity 160 Street Fighter. Mainly it should be noted that this new TVS Velocity 160 Street Fighter is a modified version of the Apache RTR 160 and it looks very good in terms of design and features.

This new TVS Velocity 160 Street Fighter features a 159.7cc, 4 Stroke, Single Cylinder Petrol engine that will provide a maximum power of about 15.2 Bhp @ 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of about 13.1 Nm @ 6000 rpm. Nothing yet is officially declared about the mileage as well as the top-speed of this new 5-speed motor bike.

This new TVS Velocity 160 Street Fighter comes with a Upside down forks (Mito) suspension at the front and a YSS Monoshock unit suspension at the rear. It is expected that TVS Velocity 160 Street Fighter will be available in two shades: Black and Orange and is also expected to get launched by June/July 2011 in India, with a price tag of around Rs 80,000/-.

By the early 2011, TVS will launch their latest two wheeler product, a new commuter - TVS Neo for the Indian automobile field. This new 4 speed TVS Neo features a double clutch technology which combines manual and automatic clutch system. Manual clutch gives better accelerationa dn automatic one provides riding comfort.

Some of the notable features of this new two wheeler, TVS Neo is the i-Start technology, which helps in starting the vehicle in winters as it features a engine temperature sensor, i-Econo, where the rider can visually keep a check on the fuel usage for ensuring better fuel efficiency without compromising the performance of the bike and then DURA-LIFE, which integrates the latest roller-follower mechanism with high pressure oil system which reduces the engine friction to enhance engine's life.

This new TVS Neo features a 109.7cc Single Cylinder, 4 Stroke, SOHC Petrol engine that will provide a maximum power of about 8.5 Bhp @ 8000 rpm and also a maximum torque of about 8.5 Nm @ 4500 rpm. It also features a Telescopic suspension at the front and a Dual Shock Absorber suspension at the rear. A 220mm Two-Calliper Disc brake at the front and a 110mm Drum brake at the rear are also used.

This new TVS Neo, available in various colors like Black, Red, Blue and White also features a digital speedometer, LED pilot lamps and turn indicators, halogen bulbs, cellphone charger slot and keyhole ring that glows in the dark to assist the rider in locating the key slot.

It is expected that this New TVS Neo will be launched in 2011 February in Indian market and it is expected to be priced around Rs 42,000/-.

TVS Apache RTR 250 Specification Details and Prices

TVS is planning to introduce its latest Apache Series bike in India - TVS Apache RTR 250. Already the Apache RTR160 and Apache RTR 180 has created waves in the market and the company is planning to continue the same success through the new model. But there is no official confirmation has there about the 250cc Apache RTR bike from the company.

While coming to the technical Features of the TVS Apache RTR 250, it is powered with a 4 stroke single cylinder engine that produces a Max.Power of 30bhp @ 9500 rpm and a Max. torque of 22 Nm @ 8000 rpm. It comes with a 6 speed transmission. Other major Features of the Apache RTR 250 includes Alloy Wheels, Low Oil Indicator, Low Fuel Indicator, Digital Fuel Guage and Digital-2 Trip Meter.

TVS Apache RTR 250 has a Fuel tank capacity of 16.00 ltrs. It may also features ABS brakes as an addition safety measure for this performance bike. TVS is planning to take Yamaha R15, Hero Honda Karizma ZMR & Bajaj Pulsar 220 with this new Apache RTR 250 model. It is expecte that the new Apache RTR 250 will comes available in White, Gray, Yellow and Black colors.

The expected price of the new TVS Apache RTR 250 in india is around Rs. 1,10,000.
